Who We Are

Jenkins Insurance Group is a full-service, integrated business insurance company providing risk management, property and casualty insurance, and employee benefits programs to clients throughout northern California.

Because we listen to our clients, and focus on relationships and long-term value, we have grown into one of the top insurance brokers in America. We are an affiliate of The Leavitt Group – with 115 independent insurance agencies in 14 states, and $1.5 billion in annualized premiums – which gives us the breadth of a national insurance broker while preserving the local, client-focused approach we have practiced for more than 70 years.

Our History

When James W. Jenkins began his insurance business more than 70 years ago, clients signed their policy and shook his hand — and with that began a relationship of trust that lasted for years, sometimes generations. That trust has been the foundation for a company that has grown to become part of one of the largest insurance companies in America.

In 2008, after more than 25 years as Jenkins-Athens and having considered the best way to reflect the distinctive character of our company, we made a simple but important decision to retain just the Jenkins name. In combining Athens Benefits and Jenkins Insurance Services under this one name, we continue an important legacy of service and commitment for clients’ business insurance and employee benefit needs.

Under the leadership of the Jenkins family, the business flourished by standing behind each commitment Those strong personal values remain with us today and represent the foundation of our organizational culture. As an affiliated agency with The Leavitt Group, Jenkins maintains local ownership and management while providing an even greater range of resources and services to clients.
